Alan Weitzner
Executive Director

Alan Weitzner is the executive director of the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA), the State of Alaska’s economic development finance authority. He was appointed to this position in August 2020 after serving in the role of chief investment officer since 2018.

Prior to joining AIDEA, Weitzner’s career focused on the project finance and financial management of global infrastructure projects. He has advised and structured over $16 billion in debt underwritings, equity capitalizations, and project developments for energy, gas infrastructure, transmission, storage, and port/terminal facilities in the United States, Europe, Australia, and the emerging markets. Weitzner was the founder and managing director of Stakeholders Infrastructure (now Aligned Infrastructure), a project development and finance firm. He previously held senior management roles with ABN AMRO Bank NV as part of its global leadership team in energy and infrastructure project finance; ABB Equity Ventures (ABB Ltd) as Head of Asia Pacific project development; and with an alternative asset investment advisory group managing EMEA-based private equity infrastructure funds.

Weitzner holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
