The Railbelt Reliability Committee is a voluntary committee comprised of representatives from 4 of the 6 Railbelt Electric Utilities, Anchorage Municipal Light and Power, Chugach Electric Association, Homer Electric Association, and Golden Valley Electric Association; and the Alaska Energy Authority.
The Committee's task is to draft standards for public review to update Alaska's Railbelt Electrical Grid reliability rules. The recently released North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards will be used as a starting point for the drafting process.
The Committee will post draft standards and related documents on the Alaska Energy Authority's web site for public comment. Matanuska Electric Association has elected to periodically send an observer to the drafting meeting. Seward Utilities has elected to not participate.
Meeting Dates:
January 10: Generation Interconnection standards/ REGA Working group 1-4 scope and deliverables
January 24: Final draft of balancing authority standards/REGA Working group 5-8 scope and deliverables
February 7: Approval of Generation interconnection final draft/REGA Working group 9-13 scope and deliverables
February 21: Approval of final draft of balancing authority Stds./ Approval of Working group scopes and deliverables
March 6: Facilities Standards/Working group meeting schedule
March 20: Facilities Standards Final Draft/ Working group status report
April 4: Approval of Facilities Standards final draft/ Working group status report
